Secure base priming was defined as a way of security promoting by activating the secure attachmentrepresentation. It can active the positive emotion and makes people to do positive behaviors. In recent years, researchers have explored the behaviors of pathological internet use from attachment gradually, andexplored the improvement method. Existing researches show that the colleges of pathological internet usehave more focus on the negative information in real life. The clinical treatment mainly improved thenegative cognition on important events, but it is difficult to avoid the secondary damage. it has been theurgent problem that how to improve the therapy and avoid the negative influence at the same time. On thebasis of the concept and diagnosis of pathological Internet use, the present study used a secure-basepriming procedure to activate the secure attachment representation of college students in pathologicalInternet use, and examined the positive impact of secure-base, in order to provide a theoretical basis forcorrecting the pathological Internet use behavior.First, study I explored the condition of secure-base effect among the college students in PathologicalInternet Use. It introduced the threshold and startup types as independent variables to investigate whetherthe condition is subliminal or supraliminal. Then, on the basis of study I, study II employed the situationand startup types as independent variables to explore the repair effect of secure-base under threating and toexamine the moderating effects of attachment types. Finally, the research findings are as follows:(1)The effect of secure-base priming exists among the group of college students in Pathological InternetUse. The finding clearly indicates that secure-base priming can deliver more positive information, andparticipants project the positive feelings onto targets.(2)Participants under secure-base priming have higher evaluation on target stimuli than the positive andneutral priming. There is no significant difference between positive and neutral priming; The resultsindicate that the evaluative effects of secure-base are present in consciousness.(3)when individuals face threat situation, secure base priming has the function of mood-repaire, it canameliorate the negative effects of dangerous information. The findings emphasize the mood-repair functionof secure-base activation. (4)Among the college students in pathological Internet use, the activation of startup type is similar indifferent attachment styles. In other words, the moderating effects of attachment style are not significant.Secure-base activation is independent of attachment style. The results indicate that secure-base can activatethe positive affect of the college students in pathological Internet use, no matter secure attachment orinsecure attachment.
