Reading is one of the main ways that help human beings get theoutside information, which is meaningful to their development. Becausetext can reflect what people think and realize their communication acrossthe time and space, the research of text-reading attracts the attention ofpsychologists at home and abroad. In China, Chinese learning, especiallytraining of reading skills, is thought highly by school teachers andeducation department. Junior school students are at puberty so that theyare facing the revulsion of their mind and body. In that case, it is a keystage to cultivate their reading skills. It had been a long time from Romances became the first researcherwho discussed reading on psychological side to nowadays. A lot ofinfluential research findings appeared and situation model is the currenthot spot. When one is reading a text, the time of the first sentence in oneevent is longer than other sentences, which is called the bondary effect.Segmentation mark means a kind of linguistic method that indicats topic transformation. However, most researches of bondary effect andsegmentation mark are limited in the time dimension, but the final resultsare multi-dimentional, which caused the contradiction between singledimensional character of research and multiple dimensional character ofresults. In that case, it is necessary to have more discussion in otherdimensions in order to prove the character of multi-dimention.Although psychologists proved the existence of bondary effect insituation model of text-reading, this conclusion is the inference of resultsof time dimension which have no evidents from empirical study. Forvarifiying the universality of bondary effect, Experiment1usemoving-window paradigm and prove that bondary effect exists in spatialdimention in situation model of text-reading. And spatial segmentationmark can eliminate this effect. According to previous studies, becausethe unfinished goal in text-reading was continuely followed by readers, which simplified the integration between the information of detectingsentence and previous information, time of the target sentence in thiscase is remarkablely shorter than the situation of finished goal. It’ssimilar to the effect of economizing the cognition resource bysegmentation. In that case, Experiment2pay attention to the influnce ofintention to bondary effect The result is that when the goal is unfinished, reading time of the target sentences is remarkablely shorter than they areunder the condition of the finished goal. Moreover, the appearance of goal influnce boundary effect.Combine the results of Experiment1andExperiment2, Experiment3had a further discussion of the relationshipbetween the spatial segmentation mark and intentional situation. Finallywe find that the appearance of goal will not influnce the effect ofsegmentation marker. Our research arranged the development of text-reading, introducedassociated concepts of situation model and research foundings ofdifferent dimension. The3experiments gradually reveal some law andcharacteristic in spatial dimention in situation model of Chinesetext-reading. The results have theoretical value in cognition research ofChinese text-reading. At the same time, it has some direct significance inpractice as provides the reading instruction. Naturally, some unsettledquestions in this research are desired for future researches.
