| The elective courses of teaching sports curriculum is a reform and a new attempt in China. It is to make a choice based on student preferences and their favorite sports. Then the students are taught by professional sports teachers. It aims at improving students’sports literacy of training college students’ methods and skills of life-long entertainment. The current basketball elective courses are developing and exploring new basketball elective course approach to education and teaching mode is an important job based on Ordinary University Physical Education Curriculum Teaching Guidelines. These article takes basketball elective courses for regular universties in Shanxi province as the object of the study, use of literature, questionnaire, adpots various methods of document literature, statistical analysis, questionnaire survey and record interview to study the status quo of basketball elective courses for regular universties in Shanxi province. The paper finds out the existing problem of the basketball elective courses in common, and presents the development countermeasures.In this article, the research conclusions are as follows:(1) The age structure of the teachers in the basketball elective courses of Shanxi arrages below40-year-old. The gender structure of an absolute majority is male teachers. The educational structure concentrates in the bachelor degree. The graduate degree and above is in a low percentage. The title structure is mainly to teaching assistant and lecturer and has less subtropical high and above title.(2) The basketball elective courses for regular universties in Shanxi province has a higher proportion of full-time teachers, but they bear the amount of teaching hours post-education opportunities too few, the titles generally low, these factors will inevitably restricts the development of teachers.(3) The teaching of the basketball elective courses for regular universties in Shanxi province meets the needs of the students basically. It has an explicit purpose of teaching and a variety of teaching contents. However, the factors of bias traditional teaching methods, few lessons and high ratio of teacher-student affect the teaching effect of basketball elective course.(4) The teaching method of the basketball elective courses for regular universties in Shanxi province is still the most common way of the traditional expository method. The proportion of teachers with modern teaching methods is not high.(5) The teaching evaluation method of the basketball elective courses for regular universties in Shanxi province is still remaining a single. The basic technical and tactical, theoretical knowledge, and the usual performance-based assessment are difficult to fully reflect the true level of students.After studying, the suggestion are as below:(1) The universities should be transformed into the new mode of the basketball elective courses from the traditional teacher-led paradigm shift to the students as the main cognitive construction mode, gradually cultivate learning habits of movement and life-long sports awareness of physical exercise, and actively explore new teaching methods and means.(2) To strengthen the construction of teachers, the overall business level of the young teachers should be raised. The "going out" strategy should be actively implemented to expand the vision and ideas of the young teachers and build hardworking and professional teachers team.(3) To lay a good condition of the hardware and software for the better conduct of the basketball, it should increase the investment of hardware and software, improve school conditions, and enhance the space, basketball environment, such as hardware and software resources.(4) Strengthen the construction of basketball textbook and syllabus. Combined with school culture and character of the university, basketball elective course syllabus and textbooks should be written with strong operability prominent to extrude basketball entertainment and practicality based on people-oriented. |
