The Relationship Between Place Attachment And Environmental Responsible Behaviors

The theory of place attachment is dependent feeling when one experiences theplace (including residence and recreation) which can satisfy one’s requirements andthe senses of identity and belonging and other emotional levels. It can be used toexplain the relationship between human behaviors and environmental change. It canmeasure the attached and dependent degrees effectively and the influence that placeattachment changes the environment behaviors.First,the research in the form of literature review summarizes the theory andrelated concepts, including place, sense of place, place attachment,place identity,place dependence and environmental responsible behavior. Second, it analyzes theresearch field and progress of the foreign place attachment and introduces the presentresearch situations in our country.Then, it summarizes the constitution dimensions ofthe place attachment. Finally, it summarizes the research achievements of the placeattachment and the environmental responsible behavior, on the basis of literaturereview, concluding the research direction and research hypothesis in this paper: Placeattachment and environmental responsible behavior have significantly positivecorrelations. Place attachment affects environmental responsible behaviors; Placeidentity and Place dependence have significantly positive correlations; the dimensionsof Place attachment and the dimensions of environmental responsible behaviors havesignificantly positive correlations; the items of place attachment and the items ofenvironmental responsible behaviors have significantly positive correlations.The data was collected in the form of questionnaire. This questionnaire includesfour parts: the basic characteristics of demography, traveling behaviors information，Place attachment measurement scale and environmental responsible behaviorameasurement scale. In reference to domestic and foreign research results and maturemeasurement scale, using statistical analysis software SPSS, it discusses the effectsthat the demographic variables and the tourist information have on place attachmentand environmental responsible behavior and the correlations among place attachmentand environmental responsible behavior as well as every dimension and the topics.The research results show that place attachment and environmental responsiblebehavior have significantly positive correlations. Place attachment is made up of twodimensions: place identity and place dependence.There are significantly positivecorrelations between place identity and place dependence. There are positive correlations between the dimensions of place attachment and environmentalresponsible behavior and every topic, proving the original hypothesis.Place attachment provides a new angle for studying the relationship betweenocean and human, which has an important significance for the relationship betweenhuman and Marine. It provides reference value in the aspects of utilizing Marineresources to develop Marine economy and protecting Marine environment. In theprocess of the development of Marine economy, especially the development ofMarine tourism, pay attention to the utilization of Marine resources and affiliatedequipments perfectly, which lays a solid foundation for the formation of the functionaldependence of tourists. At the same time, pay attention to promote the formation ofemotional dependence of tourists and tend to humanization design in the tourismplanning and attach great importance to the fostering of cultural factors.In the end, bring forward the deficiency of the study and give an outlook forfurther research.
