Research On The Influence Of Place Meaning On Well-being Of Residents And Tourists

With the deepening of place theory and the widespread concern for individual well-being,the relationship between place and well-being has become a topic worthy of further discussion in academic circles.Place has unique regional attributes,and researching it as a way of meaning construction can well understand the complex form and structure between people and geographical environment.At present,people's yearning for a better life has become the guide of social development.It is of great practical significance to explore how to improve people's well-being.Tourism,as an integral part of a better life,plays an important role in promoting people's well-being.However,there are still some problems such as lack of regional characteristics,lack of place meaning,poor tourism experience and service quality.Therefore,the study of the impact of place meaning on well-being can not only supplement the existing research in theory,but also provide direction guidance for the future development of tourist destinations,which has theoretical and practical significance that can not be ignored.Taking Jieshi Mountain in Changli County of Hebei Province as an example,this paper studies the impact of place meaning on the well-being of residents and tourists by combining qualitative and quantitative methods.In view of the tourism attributes of Jieshi Mountain,this paper divides the research object into two groups:residents and tourists.Through in-depth interviews and grounded theory analysis,the impact of place meaning on residents' well-being is preliminarily explored,and the impact model is preliminarily constructed.Then,the qualitative analysis results are quantitatively supported by questionnaires.Aiming at the tourist groups,this paper mainly uses questionnaire survey method to quantitatively analyze the impact of place meaning on the tourists' well-being and construct an impact model.On this basis,the paper makes a comparative analysis of the impact models of the place meaning of the two groups on the well-being of residents and tourists,and draws the following conclusions.(1)Place meaning has a significant impact on the well-being of residents and tourists,involving physical and mental health,environment and safety,interpersonal relationships,knowledge development,infrastructure,employment and income.(2)There are differences in the impact of place meaning on the well-being of residents and tourists,mainly reflected in four aspects:perception differences,influencing factors differences,impact path differences,impact cycle differences.(3)At present,the place meaning of Jieshi Mountain is relatively fragile,which is not enough to form its unique value and advantages.(4)The influence of the place meaning of Jieshi Mountain on the well-being of individuals still has great potential for development.Based on these above,this paper puts forward three suggestions on the destination tourism development of Jieshi Mountain:(1)Emphasizing the effective development and utilization of natural resources(2)Emphasizing the effective development and utilization of cultural resources(3)Developing rich leisure activities Strengthening the place meaning of Jieshi Mountain(4)Strengthen community capacity-building(5)improving infrastructure.
