Study On Political Belief Education For Contemporary University Students

For college students, their time in college is a critical period to form political ideas. Their political behavior influenced by their political beliefs. Strengthening, improving and developing ideological and political education, especially the political belief education is not only an urgent need to solve the fundamental issue of:"what kind of talent should we cultivate and how to cultivate talent", but also the essence of the socialist university. Therefore, to obtain the dynamic information of college students’political belief and the education, and to guide contemporary college students to establish correct political beliefs based on those information is the key for ideological and political education in colleges and universities, as well as the core of the ideological and political theory courses, more importantly, the keynote of the construction of state ideology. At present, in terms of ideological and political conditions of Chinese college students, the mainstream of political beliefs are active, healthy, progressive and highly consistent with the Party Central Committee on major political issues. A more delighted thing is that capitalism is in a marginalize position. However, China is in a period of social transformation at present which all kinds of ideas and cultures clash and compete with each other due to the negative effects of market economy, and there are some problems existing in some universities, resulting in diversity, confusion, blurred and sway trend in choices of political beliefs for part of the college students, and directly affects the growth of some college students and the lasting political stability of all socialist countries. Therefore, objective analysis of political belief education of contemporary college students and the main factors that impact them, accurate understanding of the trends and problems in contemporary college students’political belief education, to propose countermeasures on strengthening, improving and developing the political belief education of contemporary college student, and to stress formation of scientific and political beliefs of college students have an important and far-reaching theoretical and practical significance on growth of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, on the building of moderately prosperous society, on the construction of the wild China and on achievement of "China Dream" who achieves the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.●According to the way of pose a question-analyze the problem-solve the problem, the study follows the logical relations of "what are college students’political beliefs and their education"-"what is the current situation"-"what to do in the future". On the theoretical basis of the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism, the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the principle of the Ideological Political Education, analyzing the research status about this subject at home and abroad, it applies research techniques featuring combination of literature research and empirical research, combination of theoretical research and practical research, combination of theoretical research and practice research, combination of qualitative research and quantitative research, as well as interdisciplinary integration and reference. First of all, political belief and political belief education as well as related concept were expounded, doctrinal deconstruction was made for political belief and political belief education to present their internal logical structure, such as the operational mechanism as well as the principle and goal for their operation. Secondly, theoretical basis and basic experience of political belief education of contemporary college students was expounded. Next, on the basis of empirical research, it carried out statistical analysis on nearly7000samples by using statistical software SPSS17.0, combining with application of Descriptive Statistical Method, the Cross-Tabulation Analysis, Chi-Square Test Analysis, the Mean-Variance Method and other statistical methods. On the basis of objectively analysis of contemporary college students’political beliefs and main existing problems, the Paper unearths the main factors that influence the political belief education of contemporary college students. Finally, relying on the achievements of the above research, five countermeasures were suggested to strengthen, improve and develop political belief of contemporary college students according to the current development situation, combining with the Party’s18th National Congress spirit and the last word of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The paper holds the opinion that the political belief education for contemporary university students shall be based on and advance with the times, and shall follow the principle of "one goal, six insists" with the gold of cultivating qualified builders and successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics and with scientific political belief. Also, the political education for contemporary university students shall insist the education concept and content advance with the times, insist type of education varied, insist education method flexible and creative, insist education environment form a group effect and insisting education subject forming an overall force. It theoretical and practically form a "comprehensive five-in-one" educational system of "five-horizontal and five-longitudinal", with five horizontal levels, i.e., concept, content, forms, ways and environment for political belief education for university students and five longitudinal levels, i.e., the country, society, universities, families and the educated, helping the university students establish correct political belief.
