| Shu Xincheng,the famous educationist of China as well as the historian ofeducationã€the publisher and the dictionary complies editor in modern China, is themain participant and proposer of China’s “new education†reform campaign in the1920’s. This article mainly focuses on Shu Xincheng’s reform thoughts during the“new education†campaign from1919to1925, introduces the forming of histhoughts〠the main contents and the characteristics,then assesses his thoughts.This article mainly contents five parts: part one, introduction, analyses why tochoice this topic,cardings the research achievements, introduces the research theoryand methods, then introduces the frame of the article;part two,introduces Shu’slifetimeã€study timeã€teaching time and writing time;part three, explores and analysesthe forming of Shu’s thoughts, seeking the roots of his thoughts from the historicalbackgroundã€the mutual effect of orientalism and western culture;part four, introducesthe main contents of Shu’s thoughts, including the reform of School systemã€subjectelection systemã€male and female classmateã€Dalton laboratory;part five, evaluatesand analyses Shu’s thoughts.Shu’s reform thinking and practice promoted the modernization process of thedevelopment of Chinese education, it also conformed to the trend of development ofeducation and echoed with the zeitgeist, so it had certain characteristics of times andprogressive significance; meanwhile, because the limitations of the times, Shu’s“new education†reform-minded inevitably had some flaws, but the flaws cannotchanged the whole thoughts,his reform thinking had not lost the glory of wisdom andprogress yet in the late100years,it is worth latecomers’ study and nostalgia. |
