This article use document analysis method, questionnaire survey, expert interview method andmathematical statistic on the settlement of the ex-service athletes in China at present stage.Comparative analysis the placement of the ex-service athletes combined with previous status.Expected to sum up some of the ex-service athletes ’ accommodation issues at the LondonOlympics approaching, and to make appropriate recommendations, to better solve theemplacement problems of the ex-service players.Research conclusions:1. Solve emplacement problems of the ex-service athletes to help ensure stability of reserve talentsof competitive sports and sports teams, conducive to players at ease in training and competition,extensive their athletic peak, give full play to national investment in sport benefits, in favors ofsports talent resource development and utilization.2. The placement of the ex-service athletes has made some achievements, but there were someproblems, the main issue: The channels are not smooth which we use to place the ex-serviceathletes. The ex-service athletes have not received good education. A large number of athleteswere held up at the sports team. Placement age continues to grow, the vocational training system isnot perfect, and athlete protection is not working completely.3. Athlete placement problems mainly on the ex-service athletes’ employment channel still single,resettlement policies are difficult to implement. Some problems have emerged on vocationaleducation, such as athlete funding, teaching materials, pertinence. We short of specializeddepartments to deal with the placement of the ex-service athletes.Research suggestion:In order to better solve the employment of the ex-service athletes, we need the following efforts:our country need to build the athlete education guarantee system, at the same time athlete itselfneed to raise the awareness of employment. Organizational placement means is to continue tomaintain, while athletes apply to vocational training, to expand employment of the ex-serviceathletes’ skills. Specialized ex-service athletes agencies need to be set up, continued to developand improve players ’ social security system, players’ social security should count into the scope ofsocial pool.
