Research Of The Implementation Of "Students Nutrition Improvement Plan" In Northwest Rural Schools

In order to explore the actual situation and the existing problems and difficultiesof the implementation of students’ nutrition improvement plan in North-westcountryside, especially in Gansu province, this study selected the three counties ofGansu province as a sample by a total of14primary and middle school, for18days offield investigation and study. Through the combination of quantitative and qualitativemethod, the integrated use of questionnaire investigation, depth interview, observationetc. This study has concluded a preliminary understanding of the implementation ofthe students’ nutrition improvement plan in the local schools of the present situation,and we have obtained some preliminary conclusions:1. Teachers, students and parents have a certain understanding in students’nutrition improvement plan. But it is not comprehensive enough; there is more orless some deviation.2. The schools try to according to the relevant provisions of students’ nutritionimprovement plan to work, but some schools failed to complete well.3. Nutrimeal patterns and canteen management way can affect the protein quality,cost, value and satisfaction, of which the advantages of the school canteen meal modeof nutrimeal self-employed is most evident, foreign contract operation mode ofcanteen meal comes second, the last is the enterprise mode of nutrimeal.4. There is a certain effect has been achieved in the school nutrimeal workscarried out, but there are all kinds of problems and difficulties in the nutritionalcontent of the work around the schools. Main performance is the school canteenbuilding, nutrimeal, transport problems, inadequate staffing, nutrimeal business costs,etc.5. Compared with the nutrient food supply work, nutrition education is relativelybackward.Based on this situation, this study suggests that some main aspects should showtheir efforts:1. We should intensify publicity, in order to improve the understanding and trustto school nutrimeal work from students, parents and even the entire society. 2. On the legal system construction, strengthen the supervision and inspectionefforts, especially the perfection of supervision system and improved inspections.3. Being Strict the nutrimeal quality controlled, and improving the value is themost important thing, and always need to remember "safety first, nutrition is the key.4. Tighten the school dining room construction, create conditions for students toprovide canteen for meal nutrimeal patterns, and strengthen the supervision of schoolcanteen operations.5. Strengthen students’ and parents’ nutrition education is very necessary. Andwe need to create a nutrition education system which is composed by students,families, schools and communities.
