Subjective Well-being (SWB) and Psychological Well-being (PWB) have been twomost-studied areas in happiness research. Subjective well-being, including the twodimensions of life satisfaction and emotional experience. Psychological well-being,including autonomy, environment master, personal growth, positive relation with others,purpose in life, self-acceptance.In early, sex, age, education level, etc. be regarded as the main factors of happiness,with in-depth research, the researchers found that personality is more important tohappiness. Personality is a stabilizing factor in predicting happiness.The study using a sample of3138varied city residents attempt to explore therelationship between the Big Five and Happiness. The study found:(1)Level of well-being of urban residents of different gender no significantdifference, the Happiness of different age, education level and income of individuals hassignificant differences.(2)The Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Openness to experienceinteracted with each dimension of Happiness(SWB&PWB) significantly. BetweenNeuroticism and each dimension of Happiness, there exist significant negative correlation.Social support is significantly related to SWB and PWB.(3)Big Five can significantly predict SWB and PWB. Overall, the Big Five on thepredictive power of the various dimensions of PWB was significantly higher than that ofthe predictive power of the various dimensions of SWB. Compared with social support,the Big Five has more predictive power to SWB.The mediating effects of social support on the relationship between Big Five andhappiness was proved. Concretely speaking, the mediating effect of social support on therelationship between Big Five and SWB is16.8%, and the mediating effect of socialsupport on the relationship between Big Five and PWB is9.6%. |
