The problem of domestic violence is widely concerned whether it is at home or in theinternational arena, because it is not only related to the family’s running and function, butalso to the stability and healthy development of the society. Although the study ofdomestic violence started late relatively in China, practitioners from various fields havedevoted themselves to this meaningful research and achieved certain progress within thedevelopment of society, the legal system, and social science. Social work is stilldeveloping in initial stage as an a scientific method introducing from the West and there’sfew study of domestic violence from the perspective of social work in China. This study isaim at exploring the intervention of women victims in the domestic violence under theStrengths Perspective theory of social work, and using social work theory to guidepractice.This study takes the method of social casework to help two objects to analyze theirown advantages and value, face the issue, build confidence and get self-growth throughthe social work intervention under the guidance of Strengths Perspective theory. Thisstudy using different methods and techniques to help the service objects in the workprocess, such as talk and Strengths Perspective., and this two objects got self-growth,foster optimistic attitude to face life and family life has been improved some extent bysocial case work. Workers argue that domestic violence against women should beintervention by strengths perspective rather than problem perspective. The domesticproblem can not be attributed to the victims, we should analyze their advantages to helpthem gain strength, confidence, an increase their self-protection awareness and ability,they should enjoy the same power as their husbands, and have their own independence.Strengths Perspective of Social Work has achieved some results, but the study ofdomestic violence intervention still has many shortcomings. The study is only for thevictims of the social workers’ intervention and research from the victim to enhance themain’s ability of self-protection awareness. It does not improve the relationship between husband and wife or family relationship fundamentally. If this study intervene in objects’family, especially in her husband, may achieve better results.
