An Investigation On The Current Situation Of Rural Sports Public Service In Baicheng District, Jilin Province And Strategy Choices

As an important part of a well-off society, the construction of a new socialistcountryside involves economy, culture, spiritual civilization and many other aspects.As Public Service of sports is a vital part of cultural life, its development degreedirectly influences the overall level of the construction of rural culture. However, dueto the imbalance of economic growth in China, there is a huge gap between urban andrural areas. In addition, the level of Rural Sports Public Service is worrying and hasbecome one of the obstacles of the construction of a new socialist countryside.Based on relevant theories of sports public service, farmers in Baicheng District,Jilin Province as subject, this thesis adopts questionnaire and interview to investigatefarmers’ timing management in slack season, the content, place, forms of sportactivities, sports concept and consumption of farmers. What’s more, the author visitedthe local township government and make deep interviews on sports organizations andmanaging state. Through the analysis and study of datas, the author find presentshortcomings of sports public service in Baicheng District and make suggestions. It ishoped that the thesis could offer references for improving the level of sports publicservice in Baicheng District and building a new socialist countryside.The major findings are listed below: The supplied parts of sport public service isnarrow; Places and equipments for sports are too limited to fulfill farmers’requirement for exercise; It is lack of professional sports tutors to offer scientificguidance when farmers are doing exercises; The sport concept of farmers is weak dueto inadequate publication on sports information and knowledge of townshipgovernments; The execution of national policy and legislation is not good; The sportexpense is insufficient; The content and form of sports is too narrow.Strategies for development as following: Try hard to make rural sports publicservice social and multiple, to ask support from different departments and thecommunity, to improve the state of the lack of sports places and equipments; Besides,it is advised that training professional sports tutors, improving work situations in ruralareas and hanging on to the excellent people; Publicize healthy knowledge andexercising methods of sports through rural broadcasting stations and bulletin boards totransfer farmers traditional concept on sports; Organize sports activities which cater topopular taster to increase farmers’ engagement.
