The Research On Culture Constuction Of The University Physical Education

Campus culture accounts an important part in the research area of colleges anduniversities. Sports culture is fundamental to campus culture, one that is the mostpopular, most attractive and most creative to college students, and has deep impact ontheir mental and physical development with its unique traits and function. However,owing to the influence of traditional sports value, campus sports culture has often beenmarginalized, even denied as a culture from the mind, instead accepted just forentertainment and fun. Moreover, the campus sports culture comes into being late,together with the lack of human and financial resources, thus more attention has beengiven to external and material construction, less attention to the important issues aseducational and ideological connotation in campus sports culture building, losing itsfunction and influence gradually.Under the background of culture development, it is no doubt that campus sportsculture will play an increasingly important role with its unique traits. Therefore, anempirical methodology is carried out in this research, investigating the construction ofcampus sports culture in Wuhan city, analyzing its advantages and disadvantages,exploring the ways and methods to build up campus sports culture from the point ofideological and educational aspects. The findings are summarized as followings: Atpresent, there are many problems in building up campus sports culture like more focuson physical health and less focus on mental health, more on entertainment and less onmind, more on competitiveness and less on sports spirits, more on hardware and less onsoftware, and so on.In this paper, author holds opinion that the good campus sports culture could beformed on the basis of following attempts: emphasize culture elements in building upsports material culture, highlight morality cultivation in building up sports systemculture and advocate humanistic spirits in building up sports spirits culture.Consequently, more efforts will be taken into practice in the future, like improveteaching quality of PE class and sports culture literacy; extend extracurricular activitiesand cultivate good habits of sports behavior; hold more sports games and enhancecompetitiveness; perfect the evaluation system and pay attention to comprehensivesports quality; establish campus sports websites and spread scientific sport concepts.
