Life satisfaction means the extent of subjective satisfaction of all the individualneeds and desires achieved, which is also an important standard to measure the lifequality of the elderly. Whether the elderly can live a comfortable life, or can feel loveand concern, or can experience respect and dignity, or can be conscious of the meaningof life, all the results could be reflected by the elderly’ evaluation directly or indirectly.Through collecting and arranging the literature, the writer determined to choose Ywelfare institution in Enshi City finally. The study mainly combines the structuralinterview and observation method. By living in the welfare institute and eating with theelderly to take part in their daily life and, face to face communication and observation indeeply, we can understand the life satisfaction of the elderly at a deeper level. In view ofthe problem nowadays, the writer creatively comes up with an idea that there will be anincomparable superiority to intervene with the professional ideas and methods of socialwork.The article contains the following parts:The introduction part presents the background of the thesis, the research meaning,the important concept, the research status and the research method.The first chapter introduces the basic summarization of the Y welfare institution inEnshi City and the basic characteristic of the elderly, and discusses the life satisfactionstatus by six aspects, such as the report of relatives, environment facilities and so on.The second chapter discourses the existing problems and the demand of the elderlyin Y welfare institution.From the perspective of social work and according to the advantage theory, the thirdpart explores the specific strategy and approach to measure these problems with the casework, group work and community work.The last chapter is the conclusion and thinking part, which discusses the deficiencyof the study and the problems that should be resolved.
