In the process of Chinese transformation to industrializationinformatization and modernization, a new lifestyle of the post-80s, whichis tied with “indoorsy” has arosed extensive attention. Under theinfluence of traditional values, it has been misunderstood by the publicthat the lifestyle of the masses of the youth--the “homebodies” isunhealthy. Therefore, those who choose to live like this have beenconsidered as problem youth and dubbed “negative”,”evasive”and“self-closing”. Meanwhile this phenomenon has not been studied much inthe acdamic field and is out of proportion to what has been concerned.Moreover, it has been researched pointed out and given measures from thesocial perspective. As a result, methods of the combination of questionairesurvey and case interview with lifestyle theoratical framwork is used inthis paper. The author collated and summarized different schorlars’arguments of “homebodies” trying to define “homebodies” and provideconceotual reference for further study. The paper also discussed under thelaws of lifestyle, how changes of objective and subjective environment suchas, the development of productive forces, the changes of social relations,the evolution of family function, social consciousness level andcorrespondently the social and individual psychology level has affectedthe lifestyle of the contemporary youth in the perspective of the threelifestyle components—life activities’ condition, subject and form. Thus,the author reaches the coclusion that “indoorsy” is a kind of lifestyleand life attitude and the “homebodies’” lifestyle is a mental resonancethat the youth come up with in a specific period. In addition, the advantagesand disadvantages of the“homebodies’” lifestyle. And the author finallymake a relatively objective and overall evaluation of the “homebodies’” lifestyle.
