A Research On The Current Security Status Of Rural Boarding Schools

The rural boarding school refers to the school adopting a special pattern of education adapting to the characteristics of scattered rural population and solving the problem of the students whose homes are far away from their school in order to ensure children at schooling age have the chance of completing the nine-year compulsory education. Since the late1990s, the rural boarding school has sprung up. With the increase of boarding schools, the rate of school security accidents in the rural boarding school is higher than that in the city school. The occlusion of the environment of the rural boarding school, the increase of the left-behind children, and both teachers’and students’poor awareness of safety account for the frequency of school security accidents. School security is the basic guarantee of the school conducting various relevant work. Therefore, how to prevent and deal with the school security accidents by strengthening the school safety management and improving the school safety rules remains a question to be solved. On this account, this paper puts forward the principles and measures of school safety management of the school in G county in Gansu Province by clarifying the security situation and analyzing the existing problems and the causes to be the benefit of the rural junior high boarding school safety management. This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction mainly describing the origin of the topic, clarifying the purpose and significance of the study, defining the relevant concepts, making a deep analysis of the research situation about school security at home and abroad, and determining the theoretical support for the research, research methods and research ideas.The second part describes the school security situation, school security education, the teachers and students’awareness of safety and their assessment of the school security situation of some samples of the school through summing up the information from interviews and surveys on teachers, students and parents through the questionnaire.The third part summarizes the achievements that the rural junior high boarding schools in G county have made in school safety management, and points out some school security problems, such as the imperfect school security system and its separation from implementation, imperfect school equipment, pessimistic school education situation and its unsatisfying effect, and the frequency of the school security accidents, etc. Besides, this part explores the following four reasons of school security problems:society, school, family and student.The fourth part puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions based on the existing school security problems of the rural junior high boarding schools in G county and the reasons for their occurrence:strengthening the school security management, increasing the rural boarding school security funds, enriching the form and content of security education, ensuring the school security by managing school violence and implementing home-school cooperation.
