Chinese as a language is the most important communication tool and theimportant component and carrier of human culture. The Chinese teaching is one of thesignificant courses for the basic education stage, it not only has the direct effect toimprove students’ ability of language use, but also plays an important role to enhancetheir overall cultural quality, advance the aesthetic accomplishment and learn othercourses well, forming the comprehensive vocation ability as well as the lifelongdevelopment. Within more than10years of Chinese new curriculum implementation,we have made huge gratifying achievements in many aspects such as Chinese learning,construction of Chinese teaching material, transformation of Chinese learning wayand Chinese curriculum evaluation. But because of the vast China territory,non-balanced economic and social development level in different regions, the actualeffect of curriculum reform has been affected, especially in some minority areas. Inthese minority places, due to the low overall quality of whole teacher groups and theweakness of students’ basic knowledge, plus the restriction of cultural environment inthese relatively closed areas, the status of Chinese teaching is still not optimistic.There’re always a variety of learning difficulties in students’ study which not onlyaffect the students current learning but also bring disadvantages to students’ lifelongdevelopment.The author, as a teacher in Tibetan area for long time, has deep and directfeelings about the Chinese learning difficulties of students in Tibetan high school. Inorder to real understand the existing Chinese learning difficulties of students inTibetan high school, the author scientifically analyzed the causes of these difficultiesto find the right solution strategy and to get teaching improvement and efficiencypromotion. All the research is done on the basis of the teaching practice experiencefrom the perspective of pedagogy, psychology, language acquisition to put forwardthe corresponding improvement strategy, using many research methods like literaturematerial consulting, questionnaire survey, individual interviews, field observation andso on.This paper is divided into5parts. The first part is an introduction. It presents themain problems and research significance, illustrates the ideas and methods of research and makes a necessary comb to related research results through the literature reviewof previous. The second part defines the core concepts, raises the theoretical basis ofthe research. In third part, it proposes the main Chinese learning difficulties of highschool in Tibetan area through interview results integration and questionnaire dataanalysis. These difficulties include:1. Some students lack of learning interest, theyhave little motivation, directly influence the learning effect.2. Some students have nogood Chinese learning habit.3. Some students can’t master or apply scientificChinese learning method.4. Many of the students’ family can’t support students’Chinese learning.5. Most students have weak basis of Chinese knowledge whichaffect learning effect. The forth part puts forward improving learning strategiesaccording to the research results. The strategies are:1. Strengthen the students’learning motivation2. Attach importance to stimulate students’ learning interest3.Pay close attention to the form of Chinese learning habit4. Strengthen the Chineselearning method guidance5.Create a good language learning environment6. Enhancethe basic Chinese knowledge teaching. The last part is conclusion. It makes areflection as much as possible of the deficiency and a represent of the merit in order toimplement a further research effectively.
