The Current Situation And Influence Of Contemporary University Students’ Mobile Phone Use

University student as a group that did not mature and will be easily affected by fresh things, the use of mobile phones will certainly have an impact on their learning and development in some degree. Mobile phone dependence that is an unhealthy phenomenon has been appeared in the university students. The present situation of college students’ mobile phone use and influence of investigation has been a task which brooks no delay.This research is based on the study of existing literatures, using participant observation, interview and questionnaire survey to investigate the situation of the university students who are studying in the two universities in Wuhan named HuaZhong University of Science&Technology and HuaZhong University of Science&Technology Wenhua College. Combined with data analysis and the result of the observation and the interview, the author analyzes the influence of the mobile phone of university students, especially the negative influence from the mobile phone dependence. Finally, the author dissected the cause of dependency on mobile phones.Through the research, we can find out that the rate of college students hold mobile phone is almost100%. Their mobile phone price is higher, the frequency of replacing their phones as well. In addition, the rate of get on the internet through mobile phone is high, and the content is rich. But they consumption of mobile phone is relatively rational. The situation of they using mobile phone in classroom is that about seventy percent of students were using mobile phone during class to entertainment but not to learn. This kind of situation is the most serious in the ideological and political theory course. Beyond that, the rate of mobile phone dependence has reached eighty pencent.15.1%of university students have been severe dependence. Dependence on mobile phone in the grade is significant difference, as well as in the class of cell phone, time, Internet flow and so on. If the degree of dependency is more deep, the ratio of students’who use high-end mobile phone is more higher, as well as with the students’who use longer time, send more number of SMS monthly, use more internet flow and spend more mobile phone direct consumption.The influence of mobile phone to the university students is complex. This study analyzed the positive influence and the negative influence of mobile phone dependence respectively from four factors that are learning, communication, values and consumer spending. There are three aspects of positive influence. First of all, mobile phone changed students’learning style, widened the field of their vision, and promoted their self-study. Second, mobile phone has changed the students’communication mode, protected their privacy. At the same time, college students can express themselves much better, and enlarged the scope of communication. The third, mobile phone make college students’ self-worth get promoted, and let them develop practical values. However, the mobile phone dependence has brought four aspects of negative impact for students. First, it leads to students’learning performance decline, and bad learning habits and lazy thinking. Secondly, it mad students feel cold to the real communication. In addition, the psychological distance between people become larger, and students’communication mode sets up and dies quickly. The third, it causes the students’moral quality and collective consciousness weaker, and students become more dishonest. Finally, students take shape bandwagon consumption and bad consumption concept easily.Finally, the author works out the causes of mobile phone dependence. The study mainly analyze from the two aspects’interaction that are the objective factor and the university students themselves. The results are six reasons. The basic reason is that college students were bound by mobile phone. The most important reason is the group psychology. It is the social reasons that the demand of social capital. Beyond that, university students use mobile phones to give vent to bad mood. This is a necessity causes. Two kinds of adjustment disorder are the direct cause of mobile phone dependence. Last and mostly, Correspondence between the demand of social capital and the college students’ characteristics is the root cause.
