Swimming Contest, with the secondary total number of gold metals only totrack and field, is one of the major items of Olympic Games. Though there is a certaingap between China and other swimming dominant countries like Australia and theUnited States, our increasing competitive swimming strength has occupied animportant position in the world.Shanghai Team and Zhejiang Team owned nearly half of the metals in theNational Games which is the domestic highest level of swimming competition.Tianjin Team had thrived in the eighties and nineties, and then fallen in a very shorttime, and never entered the first echelon of the Metals Table in all previous nationalgames. With nearly10years development, many excellent athletes recently haveemerged in Tianjin Team. Although gaps exist between Tianjin Team and othertraditional strong teams like Shanghai Team, Zhejiang Team and Guangdong Team,for several breakthroughs in some items in the10thand11thNational Games, TianjinTeam has the hope to achieve the greater breakthroughs and to enter the first echelon.This study, which aimed to provide theoretical basis for trainers to analyzeathletes’ skills, included technology monitoring data about women’s freestyle athletesof Tianjin Team in final games of the12thNational Games collected by searchingliteratures, analysis of technology videos and mathematical statistics, and contrastiveanalysis of tactics and technical indicators between women’s freestyle athletes ofTianjin Team and those of other teams through the video of freestyle final games ofthe12thNational Games. Theoretical and practical basis was offered to diagnose andoptimize skills of swimming athletes for trainers and researchers. Theoretical supportand advice for swimming skill optimization and improvement of competitionperformance of athletes in Tianjin was provided in this study.Conclusions were listed below through analysis and studies of skill indicatorsof excellent women’s freestyle athletes of Tianjin Team in final games:(1) The skill characteristics of the women’s800-meter freestyle in the12thNationalGames tended to be fast stroke frequency and stroke on the way of the small and onthe way to swim stroke frequency, strokes technical features of high stability; Tianjin outstanding female freestyle athletes in the800-meter freestyle race, middle reachespoor stroke length, stroke frequency stability, HouCheng insufficient stamina.Schedule control energy reserves.(2) outstanding female freestyle athletes in Tianjin technical characteristic is notobvious, according to the400meters freestyle project characteristics, should improvethe ability of sustained high speed while maintaining maximum propulsion casesaccording to the characteristics of the players themselves to choose the most suitablestroke frequency, cross combinations, continuously strengthen development speedendurance training in order to promote the improvement of performance.(3) the endurance, speed, level of the players Tianjin evaluation results for speedlevel is insufficient, comprehensive technical index that Tianjin players in the800-meter freestyle ascension potential is greater.
