This thesis aims to investigate the adaptability of Chinese readingteaching methods within primary schools.Reading is a fundamental aspect of Chinese teaching. When teachingreading, teachers generally first encourage students to understand the content,and then instruct students to read and use the new words in order to logicallymake sentences, passages and persuasive essays. However, every studenthas their own motivation, efficiency, learning style and background. Theseaspects inevitably impact their learning and require teachers to adapt theirteaching methods so as to meet different students’ needs. Nowadays,teachers tend to use traditional and process-based pedagogies, and theirlessons lack pertinence to the student’s lives and adaptability to satisfy all thestudents’ needs. As a result, significant plot analysis and relevant languagepractices that students can apply to their daily lives is lacking in many Chinesereading classrooms. In addition, students are losing interest and motivation tostudy Chinese. Therefore, it is essential to study the adaptability of Chinesereading methods and find a suitable way to motivate different students toachieve specific goals.This thesis is designed to explore the adaptability in Chinese readingteaching models with an aim to improve students’ adaptability and efficiency inChinese reading learning. Documentary analysis, case studies andcomparative analysis will be applied in this research. It refers to and buildsupon past research studies, such as “overview of reading teaching educationand adaptability","design and implementation of the adaptability of Chinesereading teaching in primary schools","reflection on the adaptation of theteaching of Chinese reading and improvement".
