| Objective:In this study, the community-dwelling women aged50—75years aretaught on a12-week cyclic strength exercises to compare intervention andcontrol groups before and after the intervention period changes to providea scientific reference to the further research of the elderly strengthexercise and the expension of the resistance exercise ofcommunity-dwelling elderly people, and help the elderly people improveenthusiasm to participate in physical exercise and provide basiss forhealth education for the elderly.Methods:1Research Subject:This research was from April2012to July2012.Withthe questionnaire screening, we raise32elderly women from one communityin Shanghai aged from50to75. The subjects were randomly divided intotwo groups, the intervention group(n=16) and control group(n=16).2Methods:2.1The literature study:refer to geriatrics, anthropometry, physicalscience, the elderly exercise intervention, athletic training at home andabroad, the elderly resistance exercise intervention, physicalquality. The number of literatures is about200.2.2Physical test:Before the start and after the end of the interventionperiod with a week, we test all rearch subject of the experimental groupand control group. The test indicators include: height, weight, whole bodyfat percentage, body mass index(BMI), resting heart rate, systolicpressure, diastolic pressure, pulse pressure,eye-closed single-leggedstanding, timed up and go (TUG),30s Chair-Stand test (CS-30), functionalreach (FR), the Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT).2.3Exercise Intervention:The exercise intervention is used the cyclicstrength training designed and taught by the author, according to physicalability and cardiovascular endurance of the elderly women, and the upperand lower extremity resistance training methods recommended by ACSM’sGuidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, and the12-week circularresistance training program designed by Chen Song’e,Beijing SportUniversity,2007.It was taught2times per week,40minutes once and a totalof12weeks.There are eight sections,a total of3repetition each timewith the specific actions including bilateral elbow bent, bilateral elbowextension, bilateral shoulder abduction, bilateral shoulder extensor, knee extensor, knee flexion, ankle dorsiflexion and plantar flexion ofankle joint.2.4Statistical methods: all test results are collected by setting up thedata base and are analyzed using SPSS17.0by the quantitative data ofmean±standard deviation.Differences among groups before and after takesby the paired sample T test, with the difference between groups by theindependent sample T test. The significance lever is that the Pvalue<0.05.Results:1.After12-week cycle exercise intervention period, height, weight, totalbody fat percentage and BMI has no significant change(P>0.05).Comparedwith the control group, there is no significant difference between thechange of the height, weight. Total body fate percentage and BMI of theintervention group and the control group.2.After intervention period, there is no significant change in the restingheart rate between the intervention group and the control group(P>0.05)ã€There is no signficant difference in the change of the resting heart ratebetween the intervention group and the control group(P>0.05).After theintervention period, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulsepressure of the intervention group are significantly decreased (P<0.05),with no significant change in the systolic pressure, diastolic pressureand pulse pressure of the control group after intervention period(P>0.05).The intervention group shows a significantly greater change ofsystolic pressure and pulse pressure than that in the control groupbetween after and before the intervention period(P<0.05).3.After the intervention period, the is no significant change ineye-closed single-legged standing in the intervention group and thecontrol group(P>0.05).After the intervention period, CS-30,FR aresignificantly increased and TUG time is significantly decreased in theintervention(P<0.05).The is no significant change in the CS-30ã€TUGã€FR in the control group after the end of the intervention period. As toSEBT, after the intervention period, there is a significant increase inthe directions of anterior, anterolateral, posterolateral, posteriorand posteromedial in the left side of intervention group(P<0.05),andthere is a significant increase in the directions of anterolateral, lateral, posterior and posteromedial in the right side of the interventiongroup(P<0.05).There is no change in all the directions of the left andright side of the control group after the intervention period(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.12-week cyclic strength exercise may have an effect on lowering theblood pressure temporarily, and may has certain effect on improving thecardiovascular function of elderly people. 2.12-week cyclic strength exercise can signifcantly improve thefunctional mobility and dynamic balance of elderly people, and preventthe frailty and fall of elderly people.3.12-week cyclic strength exercise intervention is an easy and effectiveexercise for the elderly people. |
