The Research On The Causes And Control Of Fans Groups’ Conflicts In Chinese Professional Football League

Football fans groups have been regarded as the driving force to promote thedevelopment of football sports. But football fans groups conflicts happened frequentlyin our country in recent years, such as the "3.24" event which happened in Xi’an,Shanxi province and the "5.19" event happened in Beijing. Fan group conflicts havebeen turned out to be a great threat to the safety of people’s lives and property, disturbthe social order seriously, and hinder the development of the football professionalleague. Therefore, it is quite important to understand timely the status quo of the fansgroups, to continue to discuss the causes of fans groups conflicts in ChineseProfessional Football League, to explore the ways to achieve a benign guide of fansgroups, to prevent and reduce the happening of the conflicts, through the means ofsocial control, depending on social forces. The study has important theoretical andrealistic significance in the healthy development of fans groups and in theconstruction of a harmonious societyThis article describes the composition of fans group and present status of fansgroup conflicts appeared in Chinese professional football league, and emphaticallyanalyses the cause of the fans groups’ conflicts and control countermeasures, throughthe literature material method, interview method, questionnaire investigation, casestudies, mathematical statistics, logic reasoning method, field observation and othermethods. The results show that: most of members of fans in Chinese professionalfootball league are young and middle-aged men; temporary, complexity, highlyeducated are the main characteristics. Fans groups conflicts happened in different timeand space of Chinese professional football league. The conflicts present in diverseform with certain harm. In the research, the main causes of fans groups conflicts inChinese professional football league are divided into two types: internal and externalcauses. The internal factors mainly refers to fans group’s own psychological factors,including the fans’ expressions of their bad feelings, fans group’s cognitive deviation,fans groups’ conformity behavior and losing personalization, and their weakawareness of laws and regulations. Those are the key factors of fans groups conflicts.The external factors mainly include the factors from events participants, events relatedfactors and social environmental factors. Among of them, refereeing decisions,historical grievances of fans groups supporting different teams, the results of thegames, the conflicts among the plays, and the decrease of the accountability of theLeague etc. are the most important inducing factors. According to the causative factoranalysis of fans group conflict in Chinese Professional Football League based on thetheory of social control, the governance of the conflicts should be carried out fromtwo aspects including soft control and hard control. Personnel management andeducation of fans groups, referees, athletes and coaches and other relativeadministrative staff cooperate with the safety management in field. Hard controlmeasures mainly include perfecting the relevant laws and regulations, reforming andperfecting management system and mechanism, strengthening the industrymanagement, and carrying on the reasonable and effective field management; Softcontrol approaches include the full use of functions of the media, school, family education and social moral custom specifications to give a better guide of fans andother events participants.
