Due to geography, nature and culture, it has always been very hard for thegovernment to employ new math teachers from out of A ba; whereas the teachers atwork have difficulty in teaching ideas and obtaining knowledge themselves,whichresult in a great gap in teaching compared with Han areas, and native mathematicsculture erosion is serious. Therefore, it is necessary to cultivate Tibetan math teachersin order to develop education rapidly in primary and secondary schools of A baprefectures.This paper, on the basis of investigation and analysis in primary andsecondary schools,will take Tibetan-Chinese math major for an example to discuss themethods of cultivating math teachers for Tibetan areas from the angle of traininggoals, teachers qualities and curriculum arrangements, which will be likely to offersome theories for the math education.This thesis includes five parts:The first is introduction. It gives study background, significance, methodology,content, ideas and major teaching model.The second explodes the necessity in cultivating native Tibetan math teachersby means of narration on teachers shortage, teachers introduction, communicationsproblems, and Tibetan math erosion.The third is on the advantages and disadvantages of native math teachers. Itputs emphasis on strong and weak points in cultivating Tibetan teachers which canalso be the basis of major goals and curriculum arrangements.The fourth is about teachers’ essential quality and the relative curriculum.According to elementary education in Tibetan areas, the part will discover mathteachers’ qualities, then put forward teaching methods, curriculum and evaluationsystem.The last part states the teachers’ construction on Bilingual math education. Cultivating qualified math teachers have to adapt to Tibetan education. Theconstruction of professional teachers must be improved such as strengtheningteachers’ profession levels and promoting comprehensive teaching ability andconsciousness.
