This study mainly aims to explore into issues that exist in cohesion of math teaching of senior one bilingual students. It analyzes factors influencing cohesion from three perspectives including teacher, student, and textbook. Besides, the study examines countermeasures to solve cohesion issues of middle and high school math teaching.The study firstly compares math performance in high school entrance examination with that in senior one mid-term examination of senior one bilingual students from a combined junior & senior high school in southern Xinjiang that is relatively remote and culturally backward. It discovers that students’ math performance substantially get poorer after they enter high school, and finds out influential factors behind such phenomenon. The researcher successively hands out,takes back, and analyzes questionnaires among senior one bilingual students and teachers. It then carries out profound analysis about cohesion of math teaching from aspects of teacher, textbook, and student. To further find out the reasons for poor math teaching cohesion, the study also analyzes from perspectives of course standard,teachers’ teaching method, students’ learning method, students’ mental development,learning environment, bilingual students’ language barrier, etc. Based on teaching reality in the local city, the study combines factors that influence math teaching cohesion of bilingual students, and examines the source of poor math performance of senior one students from three different perspectives including textbook, teacher, and students. In the end, it finds out influential factors for math teaching cohesion, and proposes cohesion measures as well as suggestions on implementation.Improvement measures for teachers: 1. Reform original value about math teaching; 2. Pay attention to students’ cognition in order to improve teaching methods; 3. Supplement school-based cases to complete textbook cohesion.Improvement measures for students: 1. Improve bilingual students’ Chinese level; 2. Strengthen psychological guidance and learning method instruction for students.These measures have been implemented in Shufu No. 2 Middle School, which has achieved positive results. Some measures still need to be verified in practices.
