In recent years, with the development of diversified masculinity, the studies of masculinity in different industries become abundant. The author targeted to femininity leading hairdressing industry. I had been observed successively20hair salons in six districts of Tianjin, and interviewed5male hairdressers as examples. Meanwhile, based on in-depth interviews, I interviewed five woman customers and four traditional barbers.Through in-depth interviews and participant observation research methods, the following are conclusions:There are three masculine types:rigid type, rigid-flexible type, soft type. The main reason for the formation of masculinity are personal preferences, media effect, the woman customers work environment, colleague relationship, and salon culture and so on. Hope can make literature support for rich Chinese masculinity research.
