The Multimedia Courseware Research In The View Of Media Ecology

The media is not just a medium or a delivery tool. The generation of each kind of new media creates a new technical way to perceive the world, a new living environment and life style. Along with information technology, multimedia courseware, as a new kind of supplementary teaching means, on the one hand, quickly became the important force in the process of modern teaching, with its advantages such as rich expressiveness, easily maneuverability, large amount of information, unlimited replication and barrier-free sharing; on the other hand, the use and popularity of multimedia courseware quietly shaped a new perception of the environment, symbols environmental and sociocultural environment. That is to say, multimedia courseware will create a brand new culture and a teaching field which cannot be changed by human will power, and subtly will have an influence on people with their cognitive schema, awareness style and way of thinking. To study such kind of influence, can not only enrich and perfect the theory of environmental media, but also have great realistic significance in today’s multimedia courseware teaching.On the basis of briefly sorting out development process of media ecology theory, this paper starts from the symbiotic relationship of media and culture, then deeply analyzes teaching media’s evolutionary path in different cultural style. According to that, this thesis deeply analyzes the effect of multimedia courseware on constructing perception environment, symbolic environment and social environment, which means culture field and teaching field. Through these analyses, this paper reasonably infers the cultural identity and communication deflections of multimedia courseware. At last, the article points out that the rising of multimedia courseware has its historical inevitability, and their symbiotic cultural field and the indelible communication deflections should arouse our attention:there is no pure technique without any harm; any new technology is beneficial to mankind at the cost of harming human being...
