The Research On The Evaluation System Of Core Competitiveness And Cultivation Approaches Among Social

Marx has ever said,"The growing needs for sports activities in modern society are largely decided by the level of productive forces." All the social participants should be offered various opportunities to facilitate the all-around development of physical strength, mental health, morality as well as individualism on the basis of the accumulation of material values. However, the realization of the overall development and the needs for sports activities are governed by the objective law of social development which is independent of man’s will. And with the development of social productivity, sports activities present its growing importance in society. Social sports, as an important branch of physical culture, will benefit a lot to people’s physical and mental health and will further enhance life qualities of the whole. Therefore, it is also a symbol of social health, civilization and science. Following this trend, colleges and universities in China begin to establish "social sports" major and aim to improve students’ core competitiveness in this field.This thesis chooses PE major students from eight universities in Hubei Province as the object of study and adopts methods of literature study, questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. Based on the status quo of physical education in Hubei Province, this thesis analyzes five main characteristics of the PE majors’core competitiveness: professional, practical, unique, stable and periodic. Besides that, this thesis tried to establish an evaluation system from the perspective of evaluating personality, capability and expertise. And this system includes three one-class indexes and sixteen second level indexes. On this basis, a new way to cultivate PE majors’core competitiveness is found out and it offers universities different choices according to different situations. In order to improve students’ core competitiveness, five methods can be used:firstly, intensifying teaching reform secondly, fully making students’association function; thirdly, improving students’ cultural qualities; next, creating more cooperation opportunities between universities and corporations and within universities; lastly, perfecting the training system. In China, with the rapid development of the core competitiveness both in theory and practice, the major of social sports is certain to develop faster and become more mature in the near future.
