The bride price is an important part of rural culture, which is indispensable family events of rural life. Based on s in-depth interviews with M village villagers and the author’s field investigation, The article adopts the method of qualitative research. First of all, the paper discusses the bride price of M village in eastern plain on the macro, The author introduced bride price in M village is divided into three stages, in the process, the bride price has experienced the amount, type, form of payment, properties of profound changes, such as:the amount is rising, the growth rate is accelerating; On the type and content, it changes from a single welcome gift to the welcome gifts,"dali", a gift named "shangjiao" and "xiajiao’items such as the diversification of development, from basics to the durable consumer goods to luxury goods; In the payment form, it develops from the physical to monetize even a comprehensive "fold" phenomenon; In nature, it changes from the expressiveness of gift into instrumental, from compensation to parents into funding to newly-married family.Secondly bride price negotiation and interaction of both family and the matchmaker marriage strategy are the second question focused on by the author. The negotiation is a game process by both families in the community situation, the author will draw lessons from Pierre bourdieu’s marriage strategy theory to analyze price negotiation process, Embodied three sides in price negotiations and interactions will use what marriage strategy to achieve the parties:the groom’s family "false promises","take back" and "high price" strategy; The woman’s family ask the groom’s family to discount for not meeting the woman’s family requirement,"better" push to take off to discuss marriage, village "demonstration effect" of rhetoric; The matchmaker" evade the crucial point" and "two sides boast" strategy.In the process of price negotiation and bargaining, the voice of the woman has been increasing. In the fourth section of the article, the author analyzes the performance and canuse for her voice to enhance, which tells us the process of bride price payment is complicated, the rural households have widespread payment difficulties, the groom’s family have more economic pressure and mental stress, the parents’ generation at the age of life save money in usual and borrow money when their child gets married. After founding the government has given repeated orders attempting to get married money payment received be banned. But the bride price phenomenon still exists in the countryside in our country not only has not disappeared, but has the potential of intensified, many families in the M carry huge debts because of the dowry, are under a lot of economic burden and psychological stress. The author thinks for the meaning of bride price existing under the rural field, it is the meaning that gives the bride price rationality, taking this to understand the influence of traditional culture to the villagers in the modern society by the bride price and payment behavior.
