The Vicissitude Of Marriage Payment Pattern Under Rural Spouse Plight

The social vicissitude has always been one of the core contents in sociology research. With this tradition, the article takes the changes in marriage payment as the research content, take the plight of rural spouse choice as the new study variables, to explore the ways and the contents of the changes in marriage payment, and thus bring about the changes of the rural social relations in the plight of rural spouse choice.By field investigation and interviews, the article studies the producing situations and the performance styles of spouse plight of Lingcun in the north of Henan province as the research location. And the three aspects found as following:the first is the competition in the marriage squeeze situation, the second is sustained contraction of the marry ring which is reflected in the unilateral, immobilized, tight and deformed of the marry ring, the third is sustained rising of the spouse cost. The factors above make the marriage payment features and patterns differentiate with the existing theories.The article focuses on the changes of marriage payment caused by the situations above, specifically studies the sustained increasing of the marriage payment paying by husband's family, three performances are found as following:the first is monetization of the marriage payment, the second is enhanced trend, reflected in both amount and quantity of the marriage payment, the third is the marriage payment is shouldered by the husband's family only. Contrast with the husband's family, the marriage payment of the wife's family is sustained decreasing.And the article analyzes their attitudes in the marriage payment respectively. Found that because of the spouse plight, resulting in the two sides in the negotiating position of the marriage market imbalances, which make the passive increasing in marriage of the husband's family, and the active increasing of the wife's family.The article concludes that the marriage payment pattern has changed yet. Turn to individual payment from the marriage assistance but different with the marriage repayment. The affinity relationship has also changed in the spouse plight which takes the status increasing and materialization of the wife's family as specific performance.
