| "Cultivating modern citizen’s necessary geographic literacy" is a basic ideaof high school geography new curriculum reform, and developing the students’ability of geographic practice is a necessary way of quality education. Thegeography experimental teaching is a feature method of the geography teaching.It has incomparable advantage over conventional geography teaching. It complieswith the development of the time, and plays an important role in developing thesound and healthy personality and the necessary skills of the students. Thus, theresearch of geography experimental teaching and the smooth opening of the geographyexperimental curriculum are of great significance.In this paper, the author cultivates the concept types, evaluation method,effect and experimental strategies of geography experimental on the basis of theconstructivism theory and situational learning theory. At the same time, the authoralso discusses students’ autonomous design operation experiment by using empiricalstudy. This paper is divided into six parts:The first part, the research background and research value of geographyexperimental teaching.The second part, the present situation and the theoretical basis of carryingout the geography experimental teaching at home and abroad. Taking the naturalgeographical experiment "the differences of the land and sea daily temperaturerange"as an example,this chapter mainly records,analyzes and evaluates the experiment design,experiment material preparation,operation process,selfevaluation and mutual evaluation.Explore the process evaluation model.This partmainly introduces the evaluation process of geography experimental.The fifth part, the empirical research of geographical experiment.Through thecomparative analysis of the instant learning effects and the delayed learningeffect of the experimental class and the control class.The author finds the bestresult of the experiments done by the students themselves by using differentexperimental teaching method.The sixth part, the role and teaching strategy of geographical experiment.This part discusses the influence of geographical experiment on the students’ability and its influence on the realization of teaching goals, and explores theeffective strategies of developing geographic experiments.The seventh part, conclusion.
