Geographical experiment is a kind of intuitional and image teaching methodology. It can know and find out some geographical knowledge and course of the geographical principles effectively. It can also reveal the geographical subsection, development and regularity of changes. The geographical experimental teaching can find the conclusion from the course of experimental design, operation, observarance, material arranging and analysing study to develop students'many kinds of geographical knowledge. It is not only a kind of geographical experimental teaching methodology and means of teaching, but also a kind of geographical practical activity. It includes deep rational thinking and penetrates a course of testing results and probing truth in the whole geographical experiment. Meanwhile, it has stimulated the students'interests and moved many kinds of the senses and can let students master geography knowledge and basic skills effectively. It is the main way to cultivate students'geographical ability because it is beneficial to develop students observative ability and operative ability.This essay has made a study of the integration between geography and teaching practice. Through the study of geographical experiment and geographical ability in the 1st year of senior high school, the author has definited nine typical geographical experimental projects and he has drawn up corresponding questionares of geographical ability and made individual talks and the tests of geographical lesson. Through the analysis of tests'results and questionare in basic education class 8 and 9,in Huhhot Vocational College, the results have shown that: 1. Launching geographical experimental teaching in high school has realized the students'learning of initiative and probe. It also benefits to improve the teaching quality. 2. It also benefits to cultivate the students'ability of space location, of perceiving space distributing, of comprehensive analysis, of geographical cause and effect and ratiociation and of geographical information process. 3. The effect of teaching is obvious and it is welcome to the students and also stimulates the students'geographical learning interests.For the practical study of cultivating geographical ability, the author, through the geographical experimental teaching, has put forward how to develop a directive and effective geographical experimental lesson teaching in the geographical class of the 1st year student of high school to cultivate the students'geographical ability. Meanwhile, it has provided some specific and valuable experimental contents and methods and experience for the high school geography teachers, and let them know how to develop students'geographical ability. It has also provided operative and practical reference suggestions for the teachers who are engaged in senior high school geography teaching to develop experimental teaching and cultivate students'geographical ability.
