Caring students is not only a basic requirement of teacher professional ethics but also a responsibility as teachers. Promotion of caring ability is the key point to teachers if they want to care students better. Domestic and foreign education policies and the researches on teacher professional development tell us that "study on strategies of promoting teachers’ caring ability" is an important project which is of theoretic value as well as practical significance.This paper mainly adopts the documentation method and interviewing method. In addition, the non-structural observation method is also used. After reading and analyzing many literatures, I find there is little research on promoting teachers’caring ability. By interviewing with five teachers and six students and observing the affairs about caring between teachers and students in a junior high school, I find that teachers can’t care students well and they need to promote their caring ability. On the basis of analyzing the existing literatures, I define the connotation and features of teachers’ caring ability. Through observing the reality of the teachers’ caring ability, I put forward the strategies for promoting teachers’ caring ability from the perspective of teachers and others.Teachers’ caring ability includes three meanings:finding needs of students, taking appropriate actions, paying attention to students’ feedback and self-reflection. The features of the concept are practicality、situationality、comprehensiveness、 transitivity and the combination of emotion and reason. Currently, the imperfection of teachers’ caring ability has:firstly, teachers are lacking in sensitivity of founding students’ needs. Secondly, teaches’ ability of taking diversified actions in different situation is weak. Thirdly, the way of teachers’ knowing students’ feedback and reflecting by themselves is limited. To change the reality, not only needs teachers’ efforts but also outer support. To teachers, they can do these efforts. Firstly, teachers must be aware of students’ needs keenly. They should strengthen their care consciousness and make the most of observation and dialogue. Teachers pay attention to indirect sources to know students’ needs. Secondly, teachers should take appropriate caring actions according to students’ needs. In the process, teachers should combine instruction with caring and care students by nice words and deeds. They can also ask for assistance and support from others. Lastly, if teachers want to know students’ feedback and rethink themselves, they need to understand the relation of caring completely. On ground of this, teachers should trust students, accept students and develop pure-hearted dialogue with students. Besides these, combining thinking and writing is also an effective way to promote the ability of self-reflection. At the same time, to promote teachers’caring ability also needs necessary outer support, including educator’s caring to Normal College students, school’s caring to teachers and the support of outer environment to promoting teachers’caring ability.
