| This thesis focuses on the Draft Lesson application in Senior Ⅲ English revision class, which has been quite a popular teaching method in the Senior High Schools in Shenzhen city. The writer practiced teaching in one of the high schools there for a full semester, during which time the writer noticed that not only Task-based Language Teaching and Learning Approach was understood and applied in the form of Draft Lesson and was pushed onto the teachers of English but it was even applied in Senior Ⅲ revision class as well. This phenomenon therefore arouse the writer’s great interest and the writer, in order to see if this "new method" was worth trying or not, and to explore the real function of Draft Lesson application, an empirical study and a questionnaire survey were conducted to senior Ⅲ students there, all of which aimed to answer to the following three research questions:1) Can the Draft Lesson application help students learn more and better?2) Or will it lead to the negligence of the students’ acquisition of the basic English knowledge?3) Is the application of such a teaching method well in conformity with the all-round education policy? With the relevant literature review as well as the data collection and analysis of the pre-tests and the post-tests in the empirical study and the valid answers to the questionnaires done, it can be concluded that the Draft Lesson application can help students learn better and make better performance in examinations on one hand, but on the other hand, it can hardly keep balance between the students’ examination training and their development and acquisition of their basic English knowledge. Moreover, the Draft Lesson teaching method has moved away from our national all-round education policy. |
