The Correlativity Between Ego-identity And Career Exploration Among The Students From Shanghai University Of Sport

Ego-identity means the development of personality with continuity, maturity and sense of coherence. Ego-identity is very important to the development of individuals, especially to the university students with their healthy growing, the perfection of personality, good social adaption and realizing the self-value. During the university time, individuals have to face the study, spouse, career, exams and so on. They will rebuild the concept of ego. On the other hand, this time is also very important for the career exploration. Whether they can find the job is depended on how hard they work on the career exploration.This study chooses the students in Shanghai University of Sports (refer to SUS) as the samples and via the data collection method and questionnaire method to understand the characteristics of Ego-identity and career exploration. In the meanwhile, explore the correlativity of these two aspects, and discuss the advantages of different grades, genders and majors, in order to offer the guideline of mental health and career to the sports university students.The results showed;(1) There are differences of Ego-identity among different grades, genders and majors in the students from Shanghai University of Sports;(2) There are differences of career exploration among different grades, genders and majors in the students from Shanghai University of Sports;(3) There are correlativity between Ego-identity and career exploration.Here are the conclusions:(1) The Ego-identity of SUS students obviously has the features of grades, genders and majors. The higher grade, the male and the non-sports related majors have a better Ego-identity.(2) The career exploration of SUS students obviously has the features of grades, genders and majors. The higher grade, the male and the non-sports related majors have a better Ego-identity.(3) The students with higher Ego-identity have much more career exploration activities.
