Study On Chinese Virtual University Park:a Social Network Perspective

Silicon Valley is the science park that first combines the research and industry. With itsgreat success more and more university began to set up university science park. Someuniversity science park achieve a huge success in practice such as Taiwan hsinchu sciencepark but there are also some university science park encountered problems and challenges inthe construction process. The new model of Shenzhen virtual university park is that itintroduce remote high-quality university resources and there are many universities in onescience park. This kind of university science park construction mode is initiative in ourcountry. Therefore the Shenzhen virtual university park has the very high research value. Thispaper studies the virtual university science park from the perspective of social network. Thisstudy firstly points out that the essence of virtual university science park is a kind ofinnovation network. Then analysis the network node、network structure and its function as anetwork intermediary. This paper wants to provide effective guidance on the development ofthe theory and practice for our country university science park.This study firstly discusses the construction process of the virtual university sciencepark innovation network, then analysis the network node of this innovation network and thenetwork structure by network density、actor degrees. The virtual university science park is aintermediary in innovation network. Then we compare the Shenzhen virtual university parkand other university science park at home and abroad. Based on these analysis, this paper putforward some strategies for the development of virtual university park.This paper mainly concludes as follows: the essence of virtual university science park isa kind of innovation network. It’s a new construction mode of university science park. Weanalysis the network structure of virtual university science park by social network analysisthen find out that the density is under medium level. The famous universities in mainland andHong Kong have high centrality degree index in innovation network. University science parkconstruction virtualization is the direction of future development with the wide application ofmodern information technology. But because the universities in Shenzhen virtual universitypark are come from different district, they have weaknesses in resource competition andfinancing. The virtual university park can get more development from the way that clear management and innovation subject and expand innovation network extension.
