In America’s brief history, the development of higher educationcan be said to be rapid. Emerging from backwardness to prosperity, although everythingis not going smoothly, its influence is no less. It is worth us to draw lessons fromAmerica’s experience in the development of higher education, but the academicadvising system which accompanied by the American higher education off has oftenbeen forgotten or confused. This study will introduce, interpret and deeply research theacademic advising system alone.This study will be divided into five chapters to discuss the United States collegeacademic advising system’s professionally develop process. This paper takes thehistorical stage of academic advising as the clue, it will introduce the development ofeach stage. With a particular case studies to show the academic advising system’sdevelopment and working. The study will focus on such question: academic advisinghow to effect the higher education’s development; Explore how does it working, andhow to use it; Seek the characteristics of academic advising in its every developmentstage.
