Higher vocational education is an important part of the higher education in ourcountry, whose vital task is to train high-quality applied and skilled talents for thecountry. With the development of Chinese higher education, the demand for highervocational talents’ training is increasing and higher vocational education shows moreand more important role in the entire education system. Chinese higher vocationalcolleges have developed for more than thirty years, forming the relative perfect moraleducation system. They also started many active and effective moral educationactivities, but the development of students’ morality falls behind the improvement ofprofessional skills. This article attempts to systematically analyze and study theeffectiveness of moral education in higher vocational colleges on the basis of the lawof development of moral education, hoping to conclude some new strategies used toraise the effectiveness of moral education in higher vocational colleges so as to meetthe demands of social development in the new century.This article is made up of four parts. The first part introduces the background ofthe topic, significance, the research method and the train of thought. It sums up thecurrent situation of students’ moral education in higher vocational colleges to findproblems. The second part elaborates the connotation, characteristic and significanceof the concepts related to the effectiveness of students’ moral education in highervocational colleges, it also tells people how to correctly understand the goal of highervocational talents’ training, the students’ characteristics and the connotation,significance of the effectiveness of moral education. Then it probes into the basictheory about improving the effectiveness of higher vocational moral education, suchas, the theory of social existence determines social consciousness, the theory ofobjectives, process, laws of Ideological and political education of college students.The third part begins with the analysis of the current situation of the moral educationin higher vocational colleges and summarizes the main problems of higher vocationalmoral education as well as the progress and achievements made in recent years. Thenit discuss the cause about something caused the effectiveness of the higher vocationalcollege students moral education. To be directed against the characteristics, thedevelopment trend and the inefficient problem of moral education, part IV putsforward to the countermeasures that increase the effectiveness of the higher vocational moral education. The first countermeasure is to renew the notion of thehigher vocational moral education. The second countermeasure is to strengthen ranks’construction of the higher vocational moral education. The third countermeasure is toinnovate methods of moral education, to explore new ways of moral education. Theforth countermeasure is to optimize environment of moral education from the threeaspects of social, family, school, in order to build good environment to help improvethe effectiveness of moral education. In a word, to give full play to the performance ofthe higher vocational college students moral education and to make the quality oftalent in the Higher Vocational institutions meet the requirements of the socialdevelopment.
