Value orientation is guidance of the people thought and behavior. CollegeStudents’ value orientation is a reflection of the whole social values. The valueorientation of Chinese college students indicates that the trend of Chinese socialvalues in the future. Therefore, as the builders and successors of the future, collegestudents must set up the correct value orientation. Giving guidance and education tocollege students value orientation has drawn more and more attention. Many scholarsare even focusing on the university students’ values education issues. In the currentsocialist market economy background, the party and the state and society have putforward new ideas, planned a new target and pointed out a new direction on collegestudents’ value orientation of the problem. How to deal with the new problems ofthat present college students establish correct values; how to develop countermeasuresagainst the negative influences when the bad phenomenon causes college students toestablish a incorrect outlook on value orientation; how to establish of the correctoutlook on value orientation of college students with the help of the prosperity of themarket economy. All of them have become the major problem that the mostideological and political educators ought to solve.In this paper, the author summarizes the problems and causes on College Students’value orientation and find the solutions to them under the background of the marketeconomy.This paper is divided into four parts. In the first part the author describes thebackground and significance of the research. From this section we know what thedomestic and foreign experts and scholars are studying. In the second part, the authordiscuses the connotation and feature of college students’ value orientation and how tostrengthen the guidance for college students’ view of value orientation with us. In thethird section the author analyzes the problems college students have about the valuesorientation under market economy conditions and the causes. He considers that due tothe negative effects in market economy, the impact of unhealthy trends in society andthe imperfections of the moral and legal education, not enough ideological andpolitical education and other reasons, college students will become utilitarianism,worship of money and have less sense of law. Basing on the above three ones, in thelast part, the author emphasizes the importance of the education of ideal, faith, morals and professional ethics as well as laws and regulations for college students.What can we do to develop the positive values? Four points are suggested. First, weought to strengthen the education in universities and colleges. So that students willlearn to form right points of view and cognize the wrong value outlook. Second, weneed to create a social climate favorable to help students stick to their values andabandon the wrong ones. Third, we should set up a splendid example for students tomake them produce the identification. Then they are willing to get an education. Atlast, we should pay more attention to the education of the middle school students. It isbetter to carry on the right values. When they grow up, they will more easily identifythe value view.In conclusion, based on the study on the value orientation of Chinesecollege students, some suggestions and good ideas were presented in this paper. Hopethis paper will have a certain referential valve to related research.
