With the deepening of reform and opening up, new features of the social diversity of interests have emerged, it also profoundly affects college students’values. In such a background, establish a correct world Outlook, Outlook on life and values, has become an important content of ideological and political education. The values education of college students has been the widespread attention from all walks of life. For students,the values education discusses about questions like "what kind of person to be" and "how to behave"; For educators themselves, it is the study of "cultivating what types of people" as well as "how to train people" issues.Values are not general ideas, they are concepts about merits, and are essential for the survival and development of mankind.So, College students’ values not only influences the students’ life goals,whether the developing direction is corrector not, but also related to the future development and progress of the country. In this essay, it talks about values and related theories, discusses the current situation of college students’values, and analyzes the characteristics, causes and misunderstandings of the current values education. At the same time,it is an exploratory study of contemporary college students’values education methods and approaches.The text is divided into four parts:The first part defines the basic concepts, such as value and values; summarizes researches in this field and introduction to research methods and research ideas.The second part is targeted analysis of the features of contemporary college students’ values. Through the various new features of contemporary college students’ value orientation in the description, summarizes the current questions of college students’ values.The third part of the main factors explains the formation of the values of contemporary college students, points out that features of university students’values formation are the result of combination of subjective factors and objective factors, and analyzes the current misunderstandings in values education in colleges and universities.Part IV analyzes the measures taken by the education of contemporary college students’value, provides realistic way for values education in colleges and universities.
