Education of international students is an important part of China’s higher education system, which shoulders the task of cultivating them to be skilled and positive to China. It plays an important role in developing friendly relationship between China and other countries, enhancing international communication, and speeding higher education internationalization and discipline construction.A considerable number of foreign students come from Africa. At present, research on African students mainly focuses on such aspects as language learning and Chinese teaching. Education and management of African students are rarely researched. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the common problems and propose countermeasures based on the investigation and analysis of the management and education state of African students.This paper describes the development of education and management of the foreign students in China, and gives the definition of concepts related to it. It is summarized that management and education for overseas students in China has experienced such three stages as the start, the development, and the prosperity. The macro mechanisms and modes in education and management of the foreign students is also analyzed in this paper. Research material is collected through interviews and questionnaires. Through integration of existing research materials, adoption of literature research, quantitative research, qualitative research, and hybrid research, resorting to cross-cultural adaptation theory, adaptation mechanisms of the African students are analyzed, bivariate correlation analysis mode of demographic variable and situational variable in the questionnaires is established. As to the African students in Hunan University, particularly analyze the development state, biogenic structure, managerial mechanism and mode; investigate the state of teaching and daily management by the hybrid method of quantitative and qualitative research; research on their personality and conclude the existing problems on education and management. On this basis, the principles like blending strict education and humanistic care, universal education and individual education, and educational subject and object, which should be followed, and the countermeasures on teaching and daily management are proposed for African students in China. This work has directive significance to whoever takes charge of African students in Chinese universities or colleges.
