Sine function is inseparable from the development of trigonometry, until the18th century, Euler introduced the concept of trigonometric functions, this has been the concept of the sine function. This paper first describes the origins of the sine function. Then, due to the need for astronomical research, the Greek scholar established trigonometry, trigonometry which marks generated, the sine function has been further developed. The article also analyzes the development of the sine function and improve the process, to the18th century, the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler proposed the concept of trigonometric functions, which makes trigonometry become a reflection of the real world, some movement and change, with the characteristics of modern mathematics disciplines. After the concept of generating sine function, this paper introduces the etymological development of the sine function. Then, the paper analyzes the spread of the sine function and development in China. Finally, the paper briefly describes the overview of trigonometric education during the Ming, Qing and Republic of China. According to Chinese high school mathematics teaching requirements, from the perspective of HPM,with Shaanxi Province for example, this paper analyzes the important role of the history of mathematics in mathematics education, and with high school textbook which published by Beijing Normal University press in the "sine function and cosine function is defined" for an example, to illustrate the important role in the history of mathematics teaching in the sine function.
