Nowadays, with the increasing cases of university students committing suicide and taking other people’s lives, more and more people pay attention to this issue. A large amount of university students are enduring the sense of meaninglessness of life. They make every effort to explore the meaning of life but failed. As Nietzsche pointed out,"He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how". Existentialism focuses on the meaning life. So how do we find meaning? Frankl discusses three methods to explore the meaning of life. The hospice service aims at improving the life quality of the people, exploring the meaning of life, as well as trying to help volunteers find the way out of puzzles by means of implementing the combination of the related existentialism theories and social work skills.The purpose of this study is to help university student volunteers understand the meaning of life after the experience the life education training and demonstrate the whole process of the pursuit of the meaning of life. Research data was collected by depth interview from eight university student volunteers including participant observation and a large amount of secondary sources, which come to a conclusion that life training has a great effect on the volunteers who exploring the meaning of life. The influence including three points:first of all, explore the meaning of life from phenomenon to essence; secondly, enrich the meaning of life from oneself to others; last but not least, set a clear goal of life by means of receiving love and giving love. At the end of the thesis, the author discusses and introspects the life education of hospice service, proposes some advices to the Chinese localization life education in order to promote the development of life education of Chinese university students.
