After the big industrial revolution change, now the human are stride into the knowledge economy era. A new era endowed with human new mission, the human production and way of life are also changes.The demand of talents in new era radically changes. In this context, the vocational education of training talents army is pushed to the tuyere waves. The traditional talents training mode is flower yesterday, to make the mankind follow up the pace of The Times, we must adapt to the new times the pace of life and we are in the talent cultivation from fundamental up to explore. Practice shows that the traditional education mode can’t meet the information age to the talented person’s need, we must from the fundamental up to explore talents, which requires we must have a new teaching mode to adapt to the new era to talented person’s demand. Cognitive apprenticeship just fit the new times vocational education the teaching request, it is traditional apprenticeship and school education combined, pay attention to cultivate people’s personality development, embody people-oriented, play individual specialty, cultivate personal higher-order thinking ability, expression ability, practice ability, and will the classroom theoretical knowledge and practice good combined, through the students help each other, greatly shorten the training period. The new age powerful technology is also for cognitive apprenticeship provides powerful support situation. This article first to cognitive apprenticeship of traced back, this paper expounds the origin of the cognitive apprenticeship, and to conduct the thorough research to the theory of cognitive apprenticeship, cognitive apprenticeship and traditional apprenticeship, cognitive apprenticeship and modern apprenticeships, cognitive apprenticeship and dual system one by one, trying to tease out more clearly the characteristics of cognitive apprenticeship and advantage; Secondly, this paper discusses on the coupling of the cognitive apprenticeship and vocational teaching; Then the author use a typical teaching case, detailed analysis, through empirical investigation, questionnaire result analysis research, further points out that rationality and advantage of cognitive apprenticeship in the higher vocational teaching, moreover extracted from cases of cognitive apprenticeship and vocational education in particular, explains the cognitive apprenticeship in detail how to design in higher vocational teaching; Finally put forward the cognitive apprenticeship application challenges and countermeasures in higher vocational teaching.
