The objective of junior middle school physics is to improve scientific literacy of allstudents, which requires that the learning of this stage should not only attach importance toknowledge conferring and skills training, but also pay attention to the development of students′learning interest, scientific inquiry ability, attitude, spirit and the innovation. Through theinvestigation and analysis about the present situation of junior middle school physics teaching,there are various factors leading to the fact that teachers talking and students listening is still themain trend of the classroom teaching mode at present. It’s very difficult to change the situation inreality, especially under the pressure of exam-oriented education.This paper studies the application of Scaffolding Instruction mode in the designing of physicsteaching in junior high school. Scaffolding Instruction mode is not to create a new teachingmethod, but to find a properly applied on the basis of the original method helping studentsconstruct knowledge framework.We has carried theoretical research on the ScaffoldingInstruction model, and analyzed the adaptability of scaffolding teaching mode and junior high school physics. The application of this model to the junior middle school physics teaching is conductive to determine the first level of students’ development and the teaching goals.Determine thestudents’ zone of proximal development, collect related information, find a way to build scaffold,carry out in accordance with teaching links, let students join in and step up on the scaffold,construct knowledge, make teaching evaluation, make sure the teaching objectives has beenreached and then revoke the scaffold. In this way, the students will master the knowledge,exercise ability, cultivate team consciousness and acquire the quality of autonomous learning,active exploration and scientific thinking.On the basis of theoretical research, this paper selected two junior middle school physicsclasses to carry out practice research according to the characteristics of the junior middle schoolphysics. A lesson (force) of concept and a lesson (convex lens imaging) of scientific inquiry. Use Scaffolding Instruction mode for class design, put it into the teaching of experimental classes andmake a comparison with controlled classes. The mode that comes to the conclusion through theanalysis has a large effect on improving the teaching efficiency, promoting the performance ofthe students and training the students’ ability. That is to say,the Scaffolding Instruction has someadvantages in the Junior Physics Teaching surely.
