The gradually informationized education promotes the spread of knowledge ofwhich the content is more diverse and its way of transmission is more convenientand quicker. Educational informationization has become inevitable. At the same time,under the background of knowledge economy, the learning concept of lifelonglearning meets the trend of the times, and is becoming a mainstream gradually. Newrequirements have been put forward to the development of education under the trendof this new era. In the traditional teacher-centered teaching model, students areusually the passive listeners. Students’ learning characteristics, autonomous learningability and creativity are always ignored. This kind of teaching model is full of flawsapparently, therefore it cannot satisfy the needs of education development. Therefore,it is of great significance to study and design a teaching model which is calledproblem-collaboration-inquire, and which can remedy the deficient aspects of thetraditional teaching model, and which meets the trend of the times.Based on current models of teaching and studying at home and abroad, thispaper analyzes the current situation and the developing trend of education in ourcountry and also subtly combines the multimedia technology, peer instruction andthe current circumstances of education of the country to design a teaching modelwhich can satisfy the requirements of the educational development in our country.The new teaching model is aimed at cultivating students’ lifelong learning ability,built on the basis of the acquaintance of the concepts of college physics. Thisteaching model respects the dominant role of students and pays attention to students’ability of independent knowledge-exploring, creativity and teamwork spirit. It alsoattaches great importance on the cultivation and guidance of students’ learninginterest, achieving humanistic teaching in word and deed. This teaching model isbased on some of the scientific theories such as the theory of constructivism, thetheory of the zone of proximal development, humanism theory and the learningPyramid theory. It analyzes the teaching content of college physics. This paper setsaside two examples: light diffraction and kinetic theory of gases,to verify the newteaching model. At the same time, the newly-built teaching model also bring with ita more complete and objective assessment indicator system. The teaching model isbased on multimedia technology which mainly invol ves Flash animation, MATLAB simulation and demonstration of experiments. The application of multimediatechnology is changing the traditional teaching model of which the lecturing iscompletely separated from experiments. It will be beneficial in enriching teachingcontents and reducing learning difficulties and thus more conducive to students’all-around development.With the implementation of the new teaching model, we find out that students’learning enthusiasm is accentuated and their participation ability improvedsignificantly, along with students’ inquire ability.
