With the development of high education in China, it is necessary for us to establish a more open high education system and learn experience from developed countries and areas. In the traditional way to teach, students are passive listener and receiver, they pay more attention to get the key knowledge. However, with the improvement of the requirement of the ability of students in science and engineering, the simple and traditional teaching methods can not meet the requirements.Professor Eric Mazur in Harvard University created the Peer Instruction, using specially designed test questions to help the students to reveal the misconceptions and guide the students to delve into the right concepts. It effectively change the traditional classroom teaching methods and teaching mode by using computer voting system and organizing large class teaching. In the large class teaching, he created a new way of teaching by making the students learning themselves, cooperating and interacting. Peer Instruction matches the requirement of Chinese education revolution, in many pages, it is said that Peer Instruction is an effective way to teach lectures in nature science, it helps to improve the quality of physical lectures in colleges, and promote the learning of physical concepts. So, it is meaningful to do some research in the application of Peer Instruction in physical lectures in colleges.The main work of this paper is that we find it is not a good match when we were trying to apply Peer Instruction into the practice of physical lectures in Yangzhou University, so considering the actual situation in Yangzhou University, I try to add preview report and remove the posting of answer before discussion, thus getting the new Peer Instruction which could be applied to the physical lectures in Yangzhou University and I also design the corresponding preview reports, reading tests and concept tests. In practice, I use comparison. I have a experimental class, using Peer Instruction, and control class, using traditional teaching method, and I also analysis the result from the practice, it is not hard to find that Peer Instruction helps students to improve that self-learning ability, understand and memory of the physical concepts. It demonstrate the effectiveness of adding preview report by analysing the correlation of preview report and the score of reading tests, the correlation of preview report and the score of concept tests, the correlation of preview report and the usual homework.As a new teaching method, we just start the application and research of Peer Instruction in our school, there are still many questions to be paid attentions on. In the future, we could establish the platform of the communication between students and teachers to between students, we could also put online discussion into lectures and using the mobile phones as the answer terminal, which would make good use of Peer Instructions.
