Big changes have taken place in China’s obligations stages physics curriculum standards and physics textbooks since the updating of diversified, international, educational philosophy of education go on with the reforming of basic education. The targeted and requirements of new curriculum standards are more clearly.and the sections of physical textbook is increased, the contents and level are reduced. This series of changes has brought great challenges to the teaching mode. A variety of innovative teaching models and teaching methods continue to be applied, and peer Instruction stand out in a variety of new teaching mode.Peer Instruction is designed specifically for students to discuss and learn cooperatively with each other in class, so that students have the opportunity to argue with each other, to discuss and joint solving problems, and to get knowledge of physical formation. At the same time, it can help students to learn how to cooperating, communicating, negotiating and sharing. Peer Instruction is strong applicability, it can be quickly integrated into our traditional classroom teaching. The effectiveness of peer Instruction in Eric Mazur’s has been confirmed in college physics course. In China, each discipline has also begun to employ peer Instruction but it is still very immature in domestic. I have conducted a preliminary explore to the application of peer Instruction in grade eight physics class with the help of the teaching reform platform of my school, combining my own teaching practice. And also, through the feedback of students and teachers, I have analyzed the outcome of peer Instruction. Research results indicate that:the success or failure of peer Instruction depends on the high quality concept tests, the effective classroom feedback, the distribution of peer group and so on. The research still shows that peer Instruction does improve the participation rate and help the students to understand the physical knowledge, but it is not useful to all the students and the greatest benefit is in the students whose rank is in the middle of the class. In order to better use peer Instruction, I have put forward some suggestions. This thesis is divided into five chapters:the first chapter is introduction, mainly introduces the research significance and research status of peer Instruction. The second chapter presents the peer Instruction and some related content, and analyzes the middle school physics course standard and the physical material at the end of grade eight. The third chapter studies peer Instruction in the concrete application of grade eight physics classes, emphatically from two class types which are the physical laws lesson and the physical concepts lesson to carry out the relevant teaching practice, meanwhile, I carefully analyze the relevant teaching cases. The fourth chapter discusses the effect of peer Instruction effect respectively from two dimensions:the effects of the students’ learning and the teachers’teaching. The fifth chapter, the reflection and outlook, puts forward the place also need to perfect in peer teaching method, and to reflect on.
