Problem-solving is proposed based on the new curriculum concept. After the curriculum reform, students are supposed to develop an active attitude about learning. They should improve capacity as well as master the fundamental knowledge and skills. Problem-solving based teaching is just the key because of the aim of new curriculum at developing students’problem-solving ability. Chemistry problem solving can help students build cognitive structure and comb knowledge. From the perspective of schema level, this article analyzes the obstacles students come across in solving chemistry problems. It was found that most students know what chemistry teacher taught, but they don’t know how to use these knowledge in practice. This is not only reflected on daily exercises, but also on the fact that they cannot associate chemistry knowledge with chemical phenomena. That is to say, they can not apply what they learn in practice. It means that students don’t understand what they learn in class. That’s why they cannot learn by drawing cases. Therefore, this article is intended to help students learn general strategy of chemistry schemata. This study selected six classes of same grade as test samples to find out the obstacles students come across in solving chemistry problems via questionnaire. Then, three students of different levels from the same class were subjected to oral report analysis, from which problems concerning the ability to understand, lack of knowledge and strategy selection were studied. Subsequently, case study shows how teachers guide students to solve problems, for example how to solve initial problems and comprehensive problems, analyze the characteristics of problems, and form problem schema. In this study, according to the analysis of cases, it puts forward four ways of chemical schemata, including conceptual representation method, Network Model, feature classification method and guiding questions. Concept characterization is a method which helps students understand chemistry concept deeply transforming from word characterization to symbol characterization; Net model method can help students organize what they learn systematically and accept new more easily; Characteristics classification method trains students to extract problem structure in problem situation, but distinguishing problem situation needs students have developed problem schema already. Leading questions method raises questions little by little according to some chemistry knowledge and students’answers. The raising process is aimed at guiding thinking to help students develop schema on the basis of knowledge. This approach is based on the characteristics of chemistry and constructivist theory. It is intended to facilitate chemistry study and reduce the burden of students in an effort to do something good for new curriculum.
