"Mathematics teaching is the teaching of mathematics language", learning mathematics can be said to some extent that learning mathematical language, learning mathematics is the process of mathematics language internalization, constantly forming, continuous use. Students of flexible and accurate grasp of the language of mathematics, tantamount to master the tools of mathematical thinking, mathematical expression and communication. As a special group in the city, what’s the specific characteristic when teaching the school children of migrant workers? What’s the inspiration for mathematics language teaching, through the investigation and study?The main body of the thesis consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly introduces the problem background, research significance and research paper.The second part is about the summary of the mathematical language studies at home and abroad, including the definition, the classification and definition of mathematical language, the definition of mathematical language ability, the relationship between thought and language, the relationship between language and mathematics study, mathematics language ability research, mathematics language barrier research etc.The third part discusses the design and process of this study, including research purpose and object, the implementation steps and method, the investigation test design.The fourth part is the analysis and discussion of the test results, which is the core of this paper. Through the analysis and discussion for the test data, we know the present situation of grade eight students’ mathematics language ability in secondary school of migrant workers in Wuchang District.The fifth part is the analysis of the research and test results, then obtaining the main conclusion of this study through classroom observation, and giving thinking and suggestions of mathematics teaching for children of migrant workers in middle school.The preliminary conclusions of this study are:(1) For three kinds of language, the student deal with problems well when using graphic language, sign language alone, but there are many obstruction in the transformation between the three languages. Teachers in the teaching of mathematics language, focus on training students the conversion of three languages flexibility.(2) The middle school students in the content, the expression of geometric reasoning symbolic language with great probability of differences, or to have a good grasp of the basic error, not, or not. The degree of difficulty and the text language depends on the given problem.(3) On the ability of mathematics language, there are many problems in students’ language recognition, comprehension, transformation and expression ability, especially the students’ vocabulary comprehension of text language of mathematics language is not in place, and uncertainty generally.
