The rapid development of information technology and Internet is like adouble-edged sword, it has provided a rare opportunity for Internet,ideological andpolitical education of universities provided, however,it brings huge challenge. Thecontinued application of E-mail, MSN, QQ and blog and other networking tools bringsa profound impact on ideological and political education. The people who are engagedin ideological and political education in the college make a lot of exploration andresearch on the application of how these networking tools carry out theInternet,ideological and political education.Since2009, more and more micro-blogg andother online communication tools such as QQ has entered into the lives of collegestudents, micro-blog has been widely welcomed by modern college students because ofits rich and diverse content and ease of communication channels.The produce of micro-blog has changed people’s way of life, ways of thinkingand information exchange, The influence of micro-blog is more evdient on collegestudents because they are easy to accept new things and pursuit independence andmake widely known the individuality.Micro-blog has many advantages and featuresover other network medias,when the university continues to improve its theoreticalsystem of ideological and political education, they should accurately grasp thecharacteristics of micro-blog to avoid disadvantages and help students establish acorrect world outlook, outlook on life, values, and use them effectively in ideologicaland political education to create convenient, harmonious environment and improve theeffectiveness of students ideological and political education.According to the actual situation of contemporary college students, this article isunder the condition of popular micro-blog, which is divided into four parts. The firstpart is from the basic knowledge of micro-blog, emphatically introduces the meaningand characteristics of micro-blog, micro-blog in the development of both at home andabroad, and the dual influence to the contemporary college students. The second part,combining with the characteristics of college students, uses theory with practice. Fromthe results and main problems, the author analyzes the current situation of collegestudents’ ideological and political education work under the background of themicro-blog. The third part further studies the opportunity and challenge that micro-blogfaced in ideological and political education work in colleges and universities. How to maximize the advantages of micro-blog and effective develop the network resources isbecoming more and more urgent. The fourth part is on the basis of the previousknowledge, using micro-blog to promote college students’ ideological and politicaleducation ideas and countermeasures in order to help ideological and political educationin the new media era, which is proposed from the follow aspects: principles thatcolleges and universities should stick to, the positive energy of the micro-blog shouldbe developed in the ideological and political education, the innovation of micro-blog isused in the educational practice platform, micro-blog assessment mechanism should beestablished, and high-quality weibo teachers should be built.
